EVC Group

From survey and design to a commissioned charging site

EVC Group turns an agreed requirement into safe, buildable and operational infrastructure. We coordinate electrical design, civils, hardware, software, installation and handover—either as a turnkey partner or within your existing delivery team.

One connected delivery process

EV projects are most exposed where responsibilities meet: grid to switchgear, civils to electrical routes, charger to software, construction to operation. EVC manages those interfaces from pre-construction through commissioning so design intent is not lost on site.

Wider public sector estates

1. Discovery and site survey

Confirm what the site and users need, what information already exists and what must be verified before design.

  • Operational requirements and target charging profile
  • Electrical intake, distribution and earthing review
  • Parking, access, cable routes and civils constraints
  • Communications and mobile-signal considerations
  • Existing drawings, utilities and site records
  • Stakeholders, permissions, risks and programme constraints

2. Concept and detailed design

Translate the requirement into coordinated electrical and civil information that can be costed, approved and built. The design depth is matched to the project and appointment.

  • Charger layout, bay arrangement and future phasing
  • Load assessment, distribution and protection architecture
  • Cable sizing, routes, containment and voltage-drop calculations
  • Earthing, isolation, selectivity and equipment interfaces
  • Civils, ducting, bases, draw pits and reinstatement
  • Impact protection, signage, markings and accessibility
  • Design risk information and construction coordination

3. Grid and connection coordination

Where existing capacity is insufficient, EVC can support the interface with the DNO, IDNO, ICP, landlord or site electrical authority. The scope may include data collection, application support, new-supply coordination and integration of contestable and non-contestable works.

Connection responsibilities and commercial offers vary by project. EVC will define its role and the third-party dependencies before committing programme or cost.

4. Procurement and pre-construction

With the design basis agreed, EVC develops the delivery programme, equipment schedule, construction plan and commercial scope. Long-lead items, outages, permits, welfare, logistics and live-site constraints are identified early.

  • Hardware and CPMS technical review
  • Supply-chain and lead-time management
  • Construction phase planning and CDM coordination
  • RAMS, permits, isolations and stakeholder communication
  • Quality plan, inspection points and document controls

5. Electrical and civil installation

EVC coordinates the site works needed to create the charging asset, not only the final charger connection.

  • New distribution boards, switchgear and protective devices
  • Containment, cabling and communications
  • Trenching, ducting, bases, draw pits and reinstatement
  • Charger, post, pedestal and barrier installation
  • Bay markings, signage and ancillary works
  • AC, DC rapid and high-power charging equipment

6. CPMS, testing and commissioning

A charger is not complete when it is physically bolted down. EVC verifies the electrical installation, charger configuration, communications, backend connection and agreed user journey.

  • Electrical inspection, testing and certification
  • Charger energisation and manufacturer commissioning
  • CPMS onboarding, access and tariff configuration
  • Functional testing, payment or RFID checks where applicable
  • Snagging, asset records and acceptance

7. Handover into operation

The handover package should enable the client and maintenance team to operate the site. EVC collates the agreed design records, certificates, manuals, commissioning information, asset data, warranties, training and support routes.

Where EVC provides maintenance, mobilisation begins before practical completion so monitoring, spares, access and escalation arrangements are ready from go-live.

Turnkey EPC delivery

For direct clients, EVC can provide an integrated engineering, procurement and construction scope with one commercial and project-management interface. Exact statutory and contractual roles, including Principal Contractor or design responsibilities, are confirmed project by project.

Installation and delivery partnerships

Manufacturers, CPOs, resellers, energy providers and principal contractors can engage EVC for a defined delivery package. This may begin at survey and design or focus on installation, commissioning and handover against a partner-supplied specification.

  • White-label or co-branded customer journeys
  • Regional or programme-led delivery capacity
  • Controlled survey, variation and approval processes
  • Agreed reporting, evidence and completion packs
  • Escalation into technical, civil or grid support where needed
