From early feasibility to handover

Review the site, parking, electrical supply, vehicle demand and existing strategy. Identify critical surveys, permissions, data and connection constraints.
Design and business case
Develop a proportionate charging mix, phasing plan, budget and procurement-ready scope. Where relevant, consider grant eligibility, but do not base the project on funding until current criteria and approval are confirmed.
Safe delivery
Plan works around the live estate, with clear access, safeguarding, logistics, CDM responsibilities, isolations and stakeholder communication.
Operation and reporting
Configure user access, tariffs and reporting, then hand assets into a defined inspection, maintenance and reactive support process.

A single site may support employees who pay for their own charging, operational vehicles that need priority and visitors who require simple access. A suitable CPMS can separate those user groups while giving the estate team one view of charger status and utilisation.

Public sector projects are scrutinised on both capital cost and long-term value. The lowest-cost installation can become expensive if it cannot be expanded, maintained or supported.
